Man Has It Been Awhile

I have been horrible at keeping up with this thing. I would try to blame it on my husband because he can write too, but there really is no excuse. I am hoping that people haven't given up on the site totally. I have updated some pictures and would like to say that we have a lot of news to share, but the sad truth is that we are just doing everyday things.. ..gymnastics, soccer, and school.

Haley loves them all and was so excited to see Shawn in the Olympics. We went to the homecoming at Wells Fargo Arena and got to sit close because she goes to Chows. It was pretty cool. Haley really wanted to talk to her, but we didn't get a chance. Here are a couple of pictures. Hope you enjoy!

Could this be the next ShawnJohnson!?!?!?

We did celebrate Sydney's Baptism on August 17th. Here is an adorable
picture of the little princess:

We hope everyone is doing well. Write a comment if you look at this. We are trying to get some video uploaded. It's not working very well. Hopefully we can fugure it out because there are some hysterical moments of Haley. Take care and I hope to write more often then I have.

4th of July

We had a great time for the 4th of July. We spent the day outside staining the deck while the kids played. In the evening we got to go to Wakonda and swim. Haley's cousin in laws were there as well. We ate dinner and watched the fireworks. Katie got the cutest picture of Haley and Keetan while they were waiting for the fireworks. Just thought I would share. We also went to the West Des Moines parade and I will post a couple of pictures from that of both girls in there colorful getup.

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING?!?!

Well, good day, good day!!!

We have been busy as usual. The last 3 weeks have been filled with visitors, fun, and of course excitement as we anxiously await a new little nephew.

As for the little nephew, we have waited Dr. appointment after Dr. appointment in hopes that he would say....."We are going to induce you" however that has not been the case. Toye is pregnant as ever and ready to deliver any day now. We are praying to God that it will be this week sometime. I am pretty sure if she doesn't go into labor they will either induce her or do a c-section. We just hope that whatever way he chooses to come into this world that he does it soon, that's all.

Joe has been busy at work. He leaves for Birmingham, AL on Friday. He's never been there and I've heard it is quite the place.....not!!!! Hopefully he will travel safe and be home soon. We always miss him when he's gone.

Haley is still doing gymnastics and still has 3 more weeks of school. We are planning trip to Pump It Up for the whole Preschool class. It should be a ton of fun and a good way for all of the parents to mingle. She is still enjoying her baby sister (thank God) and is a very big help. She does get a bit frustrated with the crying especially when she is watching one of her shows, but for the most part loves to make her laugh and smile.

We are also gearing up for our annual B-B-Q in celebration of our birthdays. I haven't gotten any invitations out because Haley can't decide on what kind of party she wants. Once we have that under control we will be sending invites. We hope that it is a huge success as always.

I am just loving being a mom who has the opportunity to stay at home with her kids. I am anxious about being a new Aunt. I can't wait for the little guy to come into this world. (Would you hurry up all ready!!!!!) Joe and I are beginning to plan for our big vacation this summer. For those who don't know we are spending a week in Myrtle Beach with Joe's sister, brother in law, nieces and nephews and their kids. It is going to be a blast if we can get there in one piece since we are driving 2 days with a 6 month old and a 4 year old. All we be good I'm sure.

Hope your April is treating you well. We could use a few more warm days, but I will take the few we've had. Enjoy the Spring and get outside and do something......love you all.

Little Sydney Gearing Up for IOWA STATE FOOTBALL

This is just a short note between trying to get ready for Easter and decorating our new bedroom. Sydney was wearing her first Iowa State shirt and so of course we had to take pictures. It is only March I realize, but we are preparing early...or maybe just wanting to get some fun pictures. I wanted to post the picture and so I will write a quick blurb as well.

We are all doing well. Joe and I had our first get away by ourselves in a long time. We stayed overnight at Riverside Resort & Casino. I must say we had a blast. There was an R&B Funk type band there and we had a great dinner at the steakhouse. It was only 24 hours, but it's always nice to catch up. Thanks to my honey for a great Valentine's present. Our kids did well without us, which is always nice to know. I don't think that Grandma got much sleep, but we are thankful for her willingness to watch them.

I hope everyone has a nice Easter. I can't imagine that I would write 2 times in one week, but hey, you never know. I really just wanted to share our newest little IA STATE fan!!!

Love to all,
Mindy

I DIDN't REALIZE....

So it has been 2 months since Sydney was born and I have written 2 times. I understand that is not a very good track record and I only hope and pray that the next 2 months will get better. We are adjusting to having 2 kids on 2 different schedules and 2 different personalities. I watch 4 kids everyday...all day and can't say that it was much adjustment, however I am not getting up in the nighttime with all 4 kids either. I think the nighttime adjustment is what I have had the hardest time with.

Sydney and Haley are both doing awesome. We are figuring out the little ones formula, as she has had some issues with gas and tummy aches. We are now on Soy and Milicon and it has been a world of difference. She still sleeps and eats about every 4 hours which is great during the day, but not so great in the middle of the night. Thank God for my wonderful husband. He is truly a blessing and so helpful. Thanks honey!!!!

We made it though Valentine's Day and I am happy to say that Joe and I are taking our first getaway (overnight) for a very long time. I am hoping that the girls behave. I am sure that they will be fine....I'm not so sure about their mother, but spending some time just Joe will be wonderful. Just eating dinner and being able to chat would be great these days!!!! An overnight is just a terrific treat!!!

We are gearing up for our vacation with Joe's neices, nephews, brother in law and the little ones in Myrtle Beach in June. Haley is so cute. She is already pretending with her snorkel, swimsuit, etc. I will post a picture....it's hilarious. She puts on her "sunscream" as she calls it and lays out her towel pretending she is in the sand. I love her so much. She is brilliant....(read the quote).

Other than that, we are trying to get into some sort of routine with everyone and just get back to sanity.

Joe had his first trip away from the family for awhile. I can tell you that when he writes about it, he would say that it definately was the trip from HELL!!!!

Love to you all,

And Then There Were Four...

Greetings from the Lamberson clan! Life is good! As you can see from the photo, Sydney is getting a lot of sleep these days... Papa Joe is really enjoying the 4am feeding times (no kidding!), and Haley has been the best helper and is really enjoying her new role as the big sis. Mindy starts back to her in home daycare this week. She's really enjoyed the past four weeks at home with the girls. Sydney turned 4 weeks old this past Friday, and has been a dream child so far. She only fusses when she's hungry or tired. Sounds just like Joe, eh? We're all looking forward to a nice, quiet SuperBowl weekend. Joe will be rooting hard for Eli and the NY Giants, while Mindy has no particular preference as her Oakland Raiders did not fare to well this year. We received great news from our family in NY this past week as Joe's nephew Brett became a proud papa! Brayden Wagner was born January 29, weighing 6 lbs 6 oz. Both mom (Liz) and baby are doing great and are expected to come home this weekend. We hope all is well, and that you enjoy the game tomorrow!

Love,
Joe, Mindy, Haley, & Sydney

At Home With The Girls

What a delight!!! Two beautiful girls who couldn't be more perfect! (At least for now!!) We have been home for the past 2 1/2 weeks and I have just one more week before my daycare kids come back. Sydney is doing extremely well. She eats and sleeps about every 3 or 4 hours and cries only when she is hungry or getting her diaper changed. She is quite modest for 2 weeks old. I don't know, maybe she just doesn't like the cold.
Haley is such a great helper with Sydney. She offers her pacifier to her when she is crying and she loves to lay on the playmat with her and sing to her. Sydney has started to really recognize Haleys voice and responds in a positive way most of the time. It has been fun watching the two of them make faces and interact.
I have posted a photo album for those of you who didn't get the email. If you click on the Kodak link in the beginning of the blog you should be able to see a slideshow of pictures. I am working on some video, but am having problems, so I don't know if we will be able to get video. I will try to put new pictures up every couple of weeks. I hope you are enjoying the pics...and the updates. There really has not been a lot going on, except for just spending time together as a new family.
Thanks to all those who sent cards and gifts. We really appreciate it and look forward to introducing little Sydney to everyone.
All our love,
Mindy, Joe, Haley, & Sydney

SYDNEY ELIZABETH HAS ARRIVED !!!!

Dearest Family & Friends:

We are home and we are thrilled!!! Our little angel Sydney Elizabeth joined the Lamberson family January 4th at 7:26am. We arrived at the hospital Friday morning at 5am, and waited anxiously for Mindy's 7am date with Dr. Hoegh and the awesome staff at Iowa methodist. A very smooth delivery followed, and Mindy and baby were back in their room at 7:40am. Joe was able to capture the event on video, which was an amazing experience! Dr. Hoegh asked if Joe wanted to capture the "procedure" on video. Joe quickly recognized that he'd best be positioned on the other side of the curtain to hold Mindy's hand. He intently stared into Mindy's eyes and listened carefully to Dr. Hoegh and his staff casually reminisce about their New Years experiences. Talk about having things down to a science!

Mindy and baby spent Friday, Saturday, & Sunday resting and big Sister Haley was phenomenal! She held the baby several times over the weekend, and our most precious moment was Haley singing the Barney song to Sydney as Baby sis smiled intently. It was priceless!

Mom and baby arrived home at 10:30 am today and are doing great. Haley met them with a big WELCOME HOME MOM AND SYDNEY sign and a big hug for Mom and baby. It has been an awesome experience, and we're looking forward to sharing more pictures with you soon!

Thank you so much for all of your kind words and well wishes!

All our Love,

Joe, Mindy, Haley, & Sydney

Christmas, New Year, Baby and Everything in Between

Well, it is two days before the BIG day!! Haley is excited, I am anxious, and Joe is doing his best to stay sane and help when he can.

Christmas was wonderful! We stayed at home for the first time since Haley was born and I would have to say....it was really nice to wake up, open presents, and stay in our pajamas until 1:00 p.m. It was the first year Haley really understood what was going on so we had a blast opening, playing, opening another gift and playing. I am thinking that this really is the way to go when you have small children.

We got a new camcorder and have been having a blast recording Haley. She is a riot. We have a great clip of her doing gymnastics, one of sledding (all by herself...and yes I was scared to death), and one of her doing a cheer for her soon to be baby sister. We are still working on getting the video online for everyone to see, but I will keep trying.

As for New Year's, we went with some friends over to an open gymnasium and played basketball, nerf darts, jump rope, and remote control cars. The adults chatted and the kids had a blast. Everyone brought little munchies. (These are the good times.....at least this is what New Year becomes when you become a parent!!) It has been very cold here so we have stayed in most of the holidays, but as I said have managed to get out and sled a couple of times.

We are anxiously awaiting Friday morning when our new little addition will be born. I will be home Monday the 7th and hope to get at least a couple of pics on the website. If I'm not able to get the pics on right away, the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines has a site with a nursery photo album you can check out.

Hope everyone is enjoying the New Year. As we said before we are so blessed with what we've been given, we pray for a wonderful and quick recovery and will be chatting with everyone soon.

Love and hugs,
Mindy, Joe, & Haley
